Club Description

The purpose of this club is to teach the students of Dana Hills High School to respect and love the ocean and the sport of sailing. Students who join this Organization will not only learn how to sail and race but learn how to be safe on the water while boating. With the help of Dana Point Yacht Club and the Dana Point Harbor Youth Foundation we will learn sailing skills such as rigging, cruising and racing.

Service Project

Fundraising will be done through Dana Point Yacht Club (DPYC) and all funds will be put towards the Youth Sailing Program or other accessible opportunities for the DHHS Sailing Organization. During our season, we as sailors will not only learn how to sail but how the boat functions in relation to physics and the environment. The boats are supplied to the DHHS Sailing Organization from the Dana Point Harbor Youth Foundation (DPHYF), an organization that works alongside DPYC and other youth sailing programs in the harbor. Approximately once a month we as the DHHS Sailing Organization will put in the time to fix any damaged vessels and work with DPYC and DPHYF to better our facilities in Dana Point Harbor.
