People's Rural Aid Service International

Description

People's Rural Aid Service International (PRASI) is a non-profit organization with the objective of improving maternal healthcare in India. Despite being one of the fastest developing nations in the world, India's health standards are notoriously low and over 100,000 birth related incidents happen every year as a result. However, the real challenge comes after the birth when children are exposed to a vast array of pathogens that they don't have the resources or immunity to fight off. Our goal as a non-profit organization will be to provide children in rural areas with tetanus, diphtheria, and/or pertussis vaccines. Later we wish to move forward and use an innovative approach to solving child/maternal mortality by investing in medical technology that can reduce complications, can be used by a non-trained individual, and can help areas where accesibility to a primary care physician is limited.

Service Project

PRASI will be holding an assortment of fundraisers in order to raise money for maternal and pediatric care in India.
