Boys Lacrosse | Chris Iltis

Coach Chris Iltis- Grew up playing the sport of lacrosse in the hotbed of Maryland since the age of 11. Chris's playing career took him to every position on the field with the exception of Goalie.  Coach Chris got his start coaching at Kelly Post in Towson, MD- the first youth lacrosse program in the country and the most storied where he coached multiple divisions and was age group chair. Coach Chris then coached at the Park School of Baltimore where he truly became a student of the game. Chris moved to California to pursue his career in the action sports industry and now owns and operates a year round surf school in San Clemente, as well as a budding club lacrosse program. 

 

Chris his wife Joanna and their three children now reside in Dana Point, CA where he grown the program at Dana Hills High School to be a top 20 team in CIF SS for 4 years. Building off their success they have now entered the South Coast league which is regarded as one of the best leagues in California, and has been a hotbed for recruiters looking for west coast talent.  Chris also owns and acts as the director of OC Wave Lacrosse an Adrenaline lacrosse affiliate team. Many of Chris's players have gone on to play in college, both NCAA, and MCLA programs.

Chris also is the Head Coach and founder of the St. Edwards Lacrosse team in Dana Point. 

 

Chris' most recent commitment to the sport was stepping in to be the interim HC for girls lacrosse as well, where he has prepared both teams to have successful seasons at Dana Hills. Dana Hills now has nearly 100 participating lacrosse players. Coach Iltis has also brought the national event Shootout for Soldiers to the west coast hosting it at Dana Hills for it's third consecutive year, where they have raised nearly 80k for veteran services such as the Semper Fi Fund. Chris has a deep respect and passion for supporting the military community, although a long haired surfer who some of his players affectionately nick named him Coach Thor. Chris has close ties to the USMC with many family members serving and good friends who served and are actively serving. For the past 2 years Chris has had active duty USMC Lacrosse coaches come to Dana, as special guest coaches for the young men who play the sport of lacrosse. His hope for this year is to have both boys and girls lacrosse have successful seasons as well as becoming better people off the field. Lacrosse reflects life and Chris's goal is to prepare boys and girls to become successful young men and women who are ready to face the world once they graduate from Dana Hills. 

 

When Coach Chris is not on the lacrosse field, you can find him spending time with his family at the beach surfing and just enjoying the beach lifestyle. His other interests are snowboarding, playing guitar, photography, and riding his Harley Davidson up the coast.
